It all started when Irish rocker Bob Geldof had the idea to bring together the biggest names in music to record a single for famine relief in Ethiopia. Band Aid’s “Do They Know It’s Christmas” topped music charts around the world, ignited a global movement, led to a record-smashing concert called Live Aid, and gave rise to The Band Aid Charitable Trust.
Since 1984, the Trust has raised and spent more than £145 million towards eradicating hunger and poverty in Ethiopia and beyond. The Trust’s efforts have funded food, medicine, housing, hospitals, water, infrastructure, schools and more.
Its partnership with JUST FOR ONE DAY marks an exciting moment in the Trust’s almost four decades of life-changing advocacy and fundraising.
